For such a time as this....

Last week, was a week like no other. This time last week, I was happy to say that we only had two more days. Two more days of the foolishness that this election season has brought. I am the one who will wait until election day to vote. I could not wait!

There was a somber energy in the air.. I felt it. It just didn't feel right. I was very intentional and mindful of my thoughts and energy that day because I knew it was going to be a very interesting evening.

I so believe and love my village. I knew we needed to come together that evening to support and love on each other no matter how the election turned out... and that is what we did. It was like we knew the inevitable was coming,... We ordered pizza, the children played BINGO and Chess. You would have thought it was a Christmas or New Years Eve,we did not choose to turn on the election results until after 9:00, we chose to watch our family favorite, "Blackish" . We also watched those few SNL skits that everyone was talking about for the last couple of weeks.

We laughed, we ate, we laughed , we drank, we laughed, we laughed and then .. We CRIED!

We turned on reality.. the results were coming in and they were not looking favorable .. We kept watching, we kept pacing, we kept praying... and to no avail..

So,.. for such a time as this. WE HAVE TO BEGIN TO HEAL AND PRACTICE SELF CARE.

We have been wounded

We have been battered.

We are Scared

We are Lost

For such a time as this WE HAVE TO BEGIN TO HEAL AND PRACTICE SELF CARE

Just for today, do something that will nourish your spirit. If it is go take a hike or walk in your neighborhood, take a long hot bath, sit and read your favorite book, meditate.

DO SOMETHING! GET ready for this week because ....
